Olympic Steel Placing installs reinforcing steel and post-tension cable across Washington, Oregon and Idaho. We’re based in Tacoma and work wherever the concrete is going.

We’re a signatory contractor with the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. Our home local is Local 86, and we’re also signatory with Locals 29, 846 and 847. Every person on our crews is trained through the union apprenticeship system, which means they know the trade and know how to work safely.

Olympic Steel Placing was founded in January 2022 by Mark Andrews and Eric Balcom. After years of running supply-and-install work alongside Addison Construction Supply, they saw the opportunity to build a placing company of their own, and took it.
